Gmail is one of the most popular and powerful email providers. It is so good that many have chosen Gmail as their primary email address. I use Gmail because it’s free, it doesn’t show any ads, you get 15GB of space limit and you can add multiple email accounts. This is a practical way of managing multiple email account without the hassle of switching betweem them.
Gmail configuration
Log in to your Gmail account. On the top-right side of the page, you will notice a “gear” icon.
Click on it and then navigate to Settings > Account and Import page. Click on the Add a mail account link. It is located at the bottom of Check mail from other accounts section.
A pop-up page is opened. Enter your email address and click Next.
Import emails from my other account (POP3). To continue click Next.
Enter the following details: Username, Password, POP Server and Port (sub4.mail.dreamhost.com : 995)
Tick the following check-boxes: Leave a copy of retreived message on the server, Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail, Label incoming messages. If you want to create a custom label select from the dropdown New Label value. Click Add Account.
Congratulation! Your mail account has been added.
If you want to be able to send emails from Gmail as user@yourdomain.com sender click Next.
Enter your name.
Enter the following details: SMTP Server and Port (sub4.mail.dreamhost.com : 465), Username, Password. Select Secured connection using SSL (recommended). To continue click Add Account.
An email with the confirmation code was sent to your email address. Enter the confirmation code and click Verify.
Congratulation! You transfered your email to Gmail account.
