Impressive Digital Art by Rob Shields

ABOUT Rob Shields

I make art because “in the haunted house of life, art is the only stair that doesn’t creak.”*

I am completely self taught and have been a serious artist since 2006. I hold degrees in Psychology, Philosophy and have done some graduate work in Media and Communication. This site was started in 2008 and now almost four years later stands as a testament to my continued success as a freelance artist with clients on both sides of the globe.

My work is created primarily in the digital realm although I have become increasingly influenced by physical mediums. The themes which I choose to explore are varied and range from fantastical escapism to more sober examinations of personal identity. I have adopted and will continue to adopt whichever style I feel best expresses my ideas.

My latest work is heavily influenced by the classic mysticisms of humanity. Who are we? Why are we here? Where are we going? The pieces do not attempt to answer or even pose these questions directly. They are merely offered as a space where the viewer can establish his or her own personal relationship with the mystery.
